Commitment to Purity
Commitment to Purity
Practitioners have become accustomed to seeing the vague "We use only the purest
ingredients" in the promotional materials of almost every dietary supplement company.
Perhaps these companies truly believe that. Perhaps they don't know any better.
Nevertheless, Droi Pharma Research, for 30 years, has been the standard by which
companies in the industry are judged for product purity. Practitioners rely on Droi
Pharma Research as the company they trust for their extremely allergic, chemically
sensitive, and immune-compromised patients.
Purity Takes Extra Effort
Vegetarian Capsules Properly marketed would be a capsule that is manufactured from
HPMC, or hydroxypropyl methylcellulose. HPMC is Vegetarian Board Cetified, and also
Kosher, and Halal acceptable. HPMC is 100% plant fiber and is derived from not only
tree cellulose, but also from vegetable and plant fiber.
Vegetable based capsules are manufactured from HPMC or hydroxypropyl methylcellulose.
HPMC is basically s semisynthetic inert material consisting of purified water and
plant fiber, or cellulose. Hypromellose is a solid, and is a slightly off-white
to beige powder in appearance and may be formed into granules or made into water
based films. The compound forms colloids when dissolved in water. It is 100% non-toxic,
but it is combustible.
Hypromellose in an aqueous (purified water) solution of water and plant fiber, unlike
methylcellulose which is a mixture of solvent chemicals and plant cellulose. HPMC
is an excellent substitute for Gluten. It could easily replace Gluten in wheat,
oat, barleys, and all cereals, although it is more expensive than gelatin derived
gluten, and has been the historic reason for its non use in commercial bread production.
Clinical studies also show that replacing Gluten with HPMC has vast cholesterol-lowering
effects, and can improve the symptoms of Celiac disease of the small intestine (leading
cause of anemia) but again HPMC is more expensive than Gluten as a bread rising
agent.
Instead of purchasing prediluted vitamin D, as other companies do, Droi Pharma Research
performs its own dilution to avoid detrimental ingredients, such as the preservatives
or lactose that are found in many commercially available dilutions. Why must Vitamin
D be diluted? Because in its pure form, it is too concentrated to safely blend into
a vitamin product. Pure Vitamin D is 40 MILLION International Units (IU) per gram.
The RDA for adults is 600-800 IU per day. To ensure proper mixing, it must be made
into a dilute powder that flows and does not lose potency. So, unlike companies
that use prediluted vitamin D that contains unacceptable excipients and preservatives,
at Droi Pharma, pure pharmaceutical vitamin D is first blended with pure mixed tocopherol
vitamin E, and the resultant stable vitamin D is then blended with hypoallergenic
cellulose powder. The final powder is blended in a large tumble blender and subsequently
analyzed. Not only is the final product stable; it is also hypoallergenic and can
be mixed homogeneously and at a safe level with other powders. Just as with vitamin
D, Droi Pharma Research utilizes similar processes for other raw materials, such
as vitamin K, leaving it to other companies to purchase commercially available raw
materials filled with unacceptable ingredients and preservatives.
